Gaming News: ‘Halo 5’ Voice Actress Joins ‘Uncharted 4’ for Mysterious Role

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

The upcoming "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" is about to get a new character that will be brought to life by voice actress Laura Bailey.

However, it is not yet clear which character in the game Bailey will play, Cinemablend reported.

The 32-year-old Los Angeles native is regarded as a veteran in the world of video games. She made her debut in the industry in 2002 by providing the voice for Rayne, the titular protagonist in "BloodRayne."

She then went on to join the voice cast of various video games such as "Dynasty Warriors," "World of Warcraft," "Valkyria Chronicles," "Resident Evil," "Silent Hill," "Street Fighter," "Medal of Honor" and "Infamous First Light."

Her latest work includes "Batman: Arkham Knight," "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain," "Halo 5: Guardians" and the upcoming "Gears of War 4."

Although Bailey has already signed on to join the cast of the latest installment in the "Uncharted" series, development studio Naughty Dog has not yet released the details of her role. According to Gamespot, these will be unveiled during the upcoming Uncharted 4: Stories from the Performance Capture Set panel on December 5. The event will be part of this year's PlayStation Experience 2015.

The panel will be headed by Neil Druckmann, director of the "Uncharted" series. Aside from Bailey, Druckmann will also be joined by the game's other cast members Troy Baker, Richard McGonagle and Nolan North, who plays lead character Nathan Drake.

According to reports, the event happening on Saturday will focus on the motion-capture process that was used in developing "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. Aside from discussing the actual procedures, the panel members are also expected to share their experiences working on the game. Never-before-seen footage as well as behind-the-scenes videos will also be revealed during the event.

"We've learned a lot about performance capture over the course of four "Uncharted" games, and have an equal number of interesting stories from working together that long," Arne Meyer, director of communications for Naughty Dog wrote in the PlayStation Blog.

"At PlayStation Experience 2015, we invite you to join Naughty Dog Creative Director Neil Druckmann and members of the cast as they discuss the process of bringing the characters of 'Uncharted 4' to life - and give you a peek of what it's like to be on the performance capture set," she added.

"Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" will be the last game from the series that will feature Drake. It will come out on March 18, 2016 and will be exclusively available for the PlayStation 4 console.
