Pastor Seung-Wook Kim spoke at the 31st Here Am I Young Christian Movement (HYM) conference this past weekend. HYM has been holding conferences every spring and fall season to stir passion and unity among young Christians in southern California.
Here Am I Young Christian Movement (HYM) held their 31st conference on September 20 and 21 at OC1 Church with the purpose of uniting and awakening the young adult congregation of the southern California Korean church.

Pastor Seung-Wook Kim from Hallelujah Church in Bundang, South Korea, was invited to speak at the conference. Though he came from Korea, he understands well the circumstances of the younger generation in southern California, as he himself has lived in southern California for a while, and has also served as the senior pastor at Sarang Community Church in Anaheim.

"Man of Integrity' was the theme of the conference. "The reason that people are not moved by the church today is not because of the buildings or the programs," explained Pastor Kim. "But it's because those who believe in Jesus are not reflecting who He is."

"I pray that through this conference, we all can be renewed as God's people," he added.

"As God's children, we believe in the return of Jesus Christ and must therefore prepare the way for Him. In order to do that, we must live as good soldiers for Christ in our lives," remarked Douglas Kim, the president of HYM, as the conference was coming to a close.

The name "Here Am I Young Christian Movement' comes from the passage in Isaiah 6:8, in which Isaiah responds to God's call by saying, "Here am I! Send me!" HYM held their first conference in 1999, and since then, has regularly held conferences in the spring and fall in the northeast Los Angeles and Orange County regions.
