‘The Sims 4’ Updates & Gameplay: ‘Get Together’ Expansion Pack Now Available for Mac and PC Versions of ‘Sims 4’

The Sims 4

Development studio Maxis has just released a brand new expansion pack for "The Sims 4" titled "Get Together."

Probably the biggest feature of the latest major content update is the addition of a whole new world to explore, Inquistr reported.

The "Sims 4: Get Together" is now available for gamers in the U.S. and can be purchased for $40. As an expansion pack, "Get Together" lets players roam around the new region called Windenburg, which is heavily based on the countryside of Europe.

In this new world, players can control groups of Sims to create Clubs or join existing ones. According to Lyndsay Pearson, the senior producer of "Sims 4," Clubs are the latest addition to the game series.

"With the introduction of Clubs, 'The Sims 4 Get Together' unlocks a new way to play with life," she said in a press release. "This is the first time that players can control entire groups of Sims, and bring Sims together to participate in all-new group activities."

"Clubs fundamentally changes the way you control your Sims and adds a whole new dimension to 'The Sims 4,'" she added.

As a group, the Sims can go around Windenburg to engage in various social activities such as playing sports, hanging out in coffee shops or go on a sight-seeing tour to explore the ancient ruins featured in the new world.

Or, for those who want to party the night away, they can head over to the local nightclubs to dance and mingle with other Sims. These venues are the perfect spots for gamers to level up their Sims' dancing and DJ-ing skills, according to Cinemablend.

"Get Together" is only the second expansion pack released for "Sim 4" even though the game has been around for more than a year now. The first pack, called "Get to Work," first arrived in the U.S. in March of this year. As its title suggests, the original expansion pack adds three new jobs to "Sims 4" and offers players the chance to build a flourishing career for their characters as a doctor, scientist or detective.

Although the game only has two expansion packs, "Sims 4" is well supported on the DLC front thanks to Maxis and publisher Electronic Arts' regular content updates. Since the game's official release, eight downloadable content updates have already been released for the game. These include add-ons and DLCs for new in-game activities and items.
