The legendary singer, Michael Bolton visited Korea to promote a concert that will be held in Korea later this year. Before the concert itself however, the "Blue-eyed Soul" made a visit to the KBS hall in Yeoido, Seoul to make an appearance on the popular Korean talk show "Immortal Song Season 2: Singing the Legend". KBS producers announced that the "Immoral Song" set had never been so packed of excited audiences.
KBS producer Jae-young Kwon told Hangyeorae News that Bolton had monitored most of Korea's major music shows and that the legendary singer himself had decided to make an appearance in the "Immortal Song 2".
"Immortal Song 2" is a show that is led by current popular Korean singers and MCs. In every episode the artists who are participating collaborate with old and new popular songs that are considered "legendary" and "immortal" among Korean fans. Every week there is a special guest who decided 10 of his own songs he would like the "Immortal Song" panel to collaborate and perform with. The performers choose 3 of the songs proposed by the guest and do something creative with them.
Bolton, when he was asked what songs he wished the cast to perform requested "How Am I Supposed To Live Without You", the same as most of the members of the panel. The singer who got to perform this song for Bolton was Myeong-Jin Moon. Highly impressed by his performance, it is reported that Michael Bolton himself had proposed to Moon that if he ever wished to record his own version of "How Am I Supposed To Live Without You", he will be more than willing to be his producer.
The panel and artists who regularly appear in the show usually prepare and rehearse for 3 weeks. For yesterday's "Michael Bolton Special" however, the panel had practiced for 2 months.
This was the first time that a non-Korean singer was invited to appear on "The Immortal Song 2". Jae-young Kwon, the lead producer of the program told Hangyeorae News that this most recent episode with Bolton may change the course of the entire production for months and even years to come. He told reporters that the guests invited to appear in the program no longer have to be limited to Korean domestic singers, and that it will also be a great opportunity for Korean singers to demonstrate before foreign producers ad performers.
