According to MLB.com, Hyun-Jin Ryu, the Korean starting pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers will be starting round 3 of the National League Division Series. Although neither the Dodgers nor the manager Don Mattingly had officially announced their starting rotation for the play-offs besides Clayton Kershaw who will be first in line, MLB.com stated there is a high possibility that Ryu will be the 3rd starter for the Dodgers.

On the 13th of September Ryu had to give up his last game of the season against the San Francisco Giants after telling the coaching staff that he had been experiencing some sharp pains in his shoulders. He had only managed to pitch one frame, allowing at least 5 hits from the Giants' batting lineup. Ryu was labeled on the Disabled List and had gone into rehabilitation until today when MLB.com reported that Ryu had pitched in a simulation game that was carried out amongst other Dodgers players.

It is reported that Ryu had pitched around 45 balls in 3 frames in the Dodgers' simulation game. It has been a while since we have seen the "Korean Monster" on the mound, but the Dodgers coaching staff expressed confidence that their pitcher has regained their confidence.

The Cardinals have already announced their starting rotation starting with their ace pitcher, Adam Wainwright and moving onto Lance Lynn, John Derran Lackey, and finally Shelby Miller. For the second season in a row, the Dodgers and Cardinals will be playing against each other in the National League Division Series. In the 2013 season of Major League Baseball (MLB), the Dodgers defeated the Cardinals and moved onto the National League Championship Series.

Round 1 of the National League Division Series for the Dodgers and Cardinals will begin on the 4th of October. Meanwhile, the Kansas City Royals defeated the Oakland Athletics in the Wild Card and became the last MLB ball club to qualify for the play offs, along with the LA Angles of Anaheim, Detroit Tigers, Baltimore Oriels, Washington Nationals, San Francisco Giants, and the Dodgers and Cardinals.

For Hyun-Jin Ryu, he has earned another opportunity to be crowned champions with his teammates in his professional career. While playing for the Hanhwa Eagles in Korea, Ryu had only one season when his team qualified for the play offs and had never experienced a league championship.
