With series creator Kurt Sutter currently working on the upcoming prequel to "Sons of Anarchy,' actor Charlie Hunnam has yet to comment on signing on to the series. There have been speculations that the "Sons of Anarchy' star already rejected an offer to return and reprise his role as Jax Teller.

Despite ending the FX hit series on a happy note, Sutter and Hunnam expressed different views as they worked together on the crime drama.

In an interview with Men's Journal, Hunnam expressed his sentiments about looking forward to his character living through the series instead of getting killed off.

"Kurt and I had a conversation in the beginning of the final season," Hunnam said. "He [Sutter] was thinking that Jax would probably live through it and I was sort of with him."

Eventually, after going through the story, the 35-year-old actor realized that it would have been unreasonable to allow his character to live. Following the events that took place, including the death of Jax's wife, Hunnam grasped the idea of having Jax get killed off rather than allowing the man to face the grave consequences.

Although Sutter and Hunnam reached an agreement to put an end to Jax's story in the hit series, the duo still had their differences.

"Kurt and I never blasted each other in the face, but I'll say it got close," the actor admitted. "There has been security rushing onto set and pulling us apart before."

At this time, it remains unlikely that Hunnam will join the "Sons of Anarchy' prequel due to the fact that the upcoming spinoff will put the spotlight on the early days of the biker gang, and not on the original series' key characters.

"At some point I do have plans to hopefully do the prequel, which I do see as a one-off 10- or 12-episode thing where we begin in Nam and see John Teller and Piney and see how that relationship got created," Sutter explained.

The series creator also added that he plans to make them return to the U.S. in order to understand "the obvious external dynamics that were going on with the country and the perception of the war and what an odd kind of perception these vets got when they returned home."

Sutter added that the events in the prequel would come to an end long before the story of "Sons of Anarchy' began, leaving FX viewers wondering which former stars in "Sons of Anarchy' will be asked to join and reprise their characters in the new series.
