Atlanta Korean Pastor's Association's recent "Jesus' Healing and Health Seminar" wrapped up successfully on Monday.

On Monday, October 6, from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, the seminar took place at Atlanta Bethany United Methodist Church, and specifically discussed: the healing and health that God desires for us; how we can receive healing from God; a life with a thorn in the flesh; and the healthy lifestyle that God is pleased with. Pastor Sung-Ho Bae, who is an expert in neuroscience and cognitive science, is also the director of JAMA's Jesus Healing and Health Ministry and the president of Thorn in the Flesh Fellowship (TIFF), and currently works as professor in the medical school of Thomas Jefferson University.

In the first half of the seminar, Pastor Bae discussed topics including "Jesus' healing and health,' "why true healing and health can only come through Jesus,' and gave courage to those ministers who are actually dealing with sickness or disease, and biblically explained the meaning behind this physical struggle.

At the end, after pointing to having Christ's heart as the main goal, Pastor Bae explained practical ways to train, which included exercising and maintenance of the brain.

"When both sides of the brain are well balanced and developed, this status is called "shalom'," said Pastor Bae.

"For those who love God, everything should be "in harmony and in balance.' As we grow older, we lose more and more of our nerve cells, and this could lead to Alzheimer's. But if we train the synapses between each of our nerve cells to become more and more developed, we could prevent Alzheimer's or slow down the progress of Alzheimer's for those who already have it. And more than anything, we must be full of Christ's love," he added.

"Through Christ's life, God showed us certain ways for us to maintain our health, and through that, He desires for us to give Him glory and expand His kingdom," he explained.

"Physical activity, mental activity, productive activity, social activity, learning activity, recreational activity, and spiritual activity - If we are filled with love and creativity, all of these seven things will naturally occur. If a pastor is giving all of himself to ministry, it is inevitable for him to be participating in all seven of these activities," Pastor Bae said. "It would be additionally helpful if you enjoyed good, nutritious food, in an enjoyable environment."
