Hyo Sarang Mission will be holding a writing and arts contest once again this year. This year's contest, which will already be the fourth, focuses on the theme, "What have I received from my parents?"

For those who participate in the writing competition, entries may be submitted in Korean or in English, and can be up to three pages long with 12-13 size font. For those who participate in the arts competition, the artwork can be created with oil, pencil, watercolors, or other medium, and a description of the artwork must be included at the back of the work in 10 lines or less. The submitted entries will be judged separately based on grade level (elementary, middle, or high school), and entries submitted by students with disabilities will also be judged separately.

Entries will be received until May 20, and can be submitted directly or by mail to Hyo Sarang Mission (7342 Orangethorpe Ave #B113, Buena Park, CA 90621). Writing submissions can also be submitted via email at hyosarangus@gmail.com.

All participants will receive honorary gifts and certificates, and those who come in as first, second, third, and others will receive laptops, tablets, and other prizes. Judges will determine whether the submissions have sufficiently and excellently expressed the spiritual and physical legacy that the students have received from their parents, and whether that has been tied in to the way they view their identity and values system. The awards ceremony will take place at Fullerton Presbyterian Church on June 11.
