LA County Department of Mental Health to Host Open Forum for Korean American Community

An open forum on the benefits that Korean Americans can receive from the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health will be taking place on Thursday (July 28) at Mijoo Peace Church.

"The district chief himself will be attending the seminar to explain the various services and benefits available, and to have a discussion on the difficulties and needs of the Korean community," explained Young Ahn of the LA DMH Service Area 4 Emergency Outreach Bureau.

Edward Vidaurri, the current Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health District Chief, will be retiring the day after the open forum.

The forum, which will take place from 10 AM to 12 PM, will also discuss prevention and intervention of mental health issues, and is hosted by the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. Two Korean representatives from the LA DMH will also be speaking at the forum.

Though Vidaurri will be speaking in English, translations in Korean will also be offered.
