“But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked” (Luke 6:35 NIV).
Lord, who wants us to love others like You do!
We praise Your name, for Your love that gives everything, love that never expects anything, and love that never discriminates.
We confess that is is difficult to love others even when we are well aware that it is one of Your instructions that we should follow. Have mercy on us for not being able to sincerely love one other, for we are selfish. Allow us to think of Your love that gave everything before we think of the pains that we get from our enemies. Help us to love our enemies like You and let our actions speak our love.
We hope that Your grace and love flow within us so that we may be able love our enemies. Help us to stay in Your love. We pray in the name of Jesus, in which peace, joy, love, and comfort abound. Amen.
