On November 1, the 18th Boys' Soccer Competition sponsored by the Korean Churches Council of Great Atlanta took place at Harmony Grove Park Soccer Complex at Lilburn, GA. 26 teams competed during this particular competition, including three teams from Auburn and Montgomery in Alabama. Korean Community Presbyterian Church of Atlanta won first place, and New Church of Atlanta came in second.

Since its beginning in 2002, this Boys' Soccer Competition has been consistently growing and taking place regularly, and is participated by a diverse group of teams, including not only soccer teams from individual churches, but also teams from several churches that have come together.

In this particular competition, the three teams from Montgomery and Auburn also went home victoriously, as two teams won their sets of matches and one team came in second.

"One of the factors that contributed to the success of many of these teams was the outstanding talent of the strikers," said Kyung-Tae Chun, the president of Children's Soccer Ministry of Atlanta. "Every player's talent has been improving year by year at each soccer competition."

"Churches expressed that one of the difficulties they faced in preparing for the competition was that they didn't have any space for the boys to practice," he added. "And I realized that we need to pour out more attention and investment into the next generation. The best plan of action as of now is to create a systematic alternative as to where the boys can practice, and make connections with town and city leaders."
