'Raising Up Children to Be the Leaders of the Next Generation'

Tacoma First Baptist Church hosted its annual Vacation Bible School earlier this month from July 5 to 9. The VBS featured sermons and worship each day, and Bible studies led by different teachers according to age groups. Some 100 children went up to the altar to receive Christ, confessed that they are sinners, and confessed that Jesus is the son of God and that he is their Savior and Lord.


Asian American Ministry Leaders: 'We Need to Re-Envision Community Development'

How far has the Asian American church community come in the area of community development? According to about 30 leaders of churches, non-profits, and seminaries who gathered to discuss the topic, the Asian American church community still has a ways to go. The gathering, which convened in Cerritos, CA on June 30, was hosted by the Christian Community Development Association (CCDA) as a pre-cursor to its national conference, which will be taking place in Los Angeles in August.

'Call2All' Korea Congress: A New Generation Calls for New Missions and Evangelism Strategies

Prominent evangelical leaders gathered in Ilsan, South Korea last week for a mission and evangelism strategy conference called 'call2all Korea Congress.' A major theme that was emphasized during the second day of the conference, which took place from June 27 to July 1, was the need for a reconsideration of evangelism and mission strategies for the current generation.

Hundreds Gather for Korean American Medical Missions Conference

Some 900 gathered in Irvine on Friday afternoon for the start of the Global Medical Missions Alliance (GMMA) Conference, which aims to encourage Christians to live missionally wherever they may be. This is the sixth such biannual conference that has taken place, but the first that has taken place under the name of GMMA.

Religious Persecution Slightly Decreased Over Past Few Years, According to Pew Study

A Pew study released on June 23 says that religious persecution around the world has been decreasing over the past few years. The research, which analyzed data up to 2014, shows that government restrictions on religion and social hostilities towards religion declined slightly between 2013 and 2014. There was a similar decline in the year 2011-2012.

Korean American Medical Mission Conference to Convene in Irvine

A conference for those with a heart to serve God and serve others with medicine will be taking place this weekend in Orange County. Called the Global Medical Missions Alliance (GMMA) Conference, it features numerous prominent speakers such as Michael Oh, the executive director of the Lausanne Movement; Dave Gibbons, the founding pastor of Newsong Church in Irvine; Phillip Lyn, the senior pastor of Skyline Church in Malaysia; and Val Tramonte, a physician who completed his family medicine training and served as faculty physician at In His Image.


Korean World Mission Conference Completed 'All by God's Grace,' Say Organizers

Some 40 organizers and participants of the recent Korean World Mission Conference (KWMC) that took place earlier this month at Azusa Pacific University gathered at Grace Ministries International on Tuesday morning to discuss and evaluate the results of this year’s conference. The organizers first expressed regret regarding the aspects of the conference where the results came up short in comparison to their expectations, and shared the challenges they faced in the process of planning for the event.
