As the competition heats up in Season 14 of American Idol, the show's creators appear to indulge fans and followers in a guessing game involving the surprises and numbers in store for the next episode. In what is assumed to be a "leak" issued by the American Idol heads themselves via their official Twitter account, it was revealed that the upcoming episode will feature songs that topped the charts and were blasted on the radio for a long period.

According to Cartermatt.com, one of the eight songs to be performed live is Hey Ya! By the famous band Outkast. Although the American Idol spoilers revealed by the creators did not specifically mention who will perform which song, some fans speculate that Qaasim Middleton might be the best singer for the number. Meanwhile, Joey Cook is a strong contender in terms of possibly taking on the Lady Gaga piece, Poker Face. However, the report was quick to note that this might be a bit predictable as Cook has been known for her quirky performances and take on numbers.

Part of the list is Adele's hit single, Set Fire To The Rain, which is speculated to be performed by Tyanna Jones. However, the report cautioned that this guess is the one they are least confident on as the song might fail to feature the full stage presence of Jones. As for Rayvon Owen, the chart-topping single of Disclosure, titled Latch, might be the best choice for the rising star.

Katy Perry's widely played hit, Teenage Dream, might be performed by Nick Fradiani. The guess is purely based on the fact that his band, Beach Avenue, already covered Perry's songs in earlier performances. As for the Ed Sheeran number, which will feature his song Make It Rain, two American Idol contestant come into mind. These are Quentin Alexander and Jackie "Jax" Cole. However, the Cartermatt report indicates that the song might suit Alexander better than the latter.

No list is definitely complete without the controversial single from Miley Cyrus, Wrecking Ball, which might be performed by Clark Beckham. Although this may seem highly unlikely, it could still be a possibility as the judges keep reminding the heartthrob singer to start taking risks in order to stand out in the competition. Hence, taking on such emotional and contentious song might actually catapult him into becoming the strongest contender this season. Rounding up the list of the leaked songs for the upcoming episode is Stay by Rihanna, which might feature the vocal chops of Jax.
