Small Church Join Together for Youth Short Term Mission

ChristianityDaily Reporter ‘Flying High Mission’ that has been holding joint event centered on New York metropolitan is preparing to hold a summer short term mission for youths with small churches.

The summer short term mission that takes place to help the faith of youths will take place on July 14- 25 at Venezuela Cumana. This is where Ray interim pastor who guided the youths for 6 years at Hillsdale Grace Presbyterian Church began his ministry here as a missionary from 2003. Interim pastor Ray is doing ministry for youth and raising theological students, pioneer 5 churches and by training 500 youths exerting a lot of influence in this area.

Several senior pastors that attended the summer youth joint gathering managed by Fly High in 2007 as main speakers is planning and preparing for short term mission to Venezuela Cumana this summer.

During the short term mission of 11 days the youths will hold VBS and evangelism ministry at the church pioneered by interim pastor Ray. “It is very meaningful since it’s a short term mission at an American missionary ministry instead of a ministry with a Korean missionary. Especially interim pastor Ray while at Grace Presbyterian Church revived the youth group into 50 people and led Korean students every year to short term mission during the summer and has many experiences in training their faith therefore during this short term mission period he will be able to share many graceful experiences,” shared Pastor Myung Cheol Hong.

“Currently expect 6 churches to participate and if there are churches that are interested but have difficulty financially or fulfilling the number they can still participate by sending 1-2 people,” mentioned Pastor Gi Sung Choi a minister staff of Flying High Mission.

In mid-April there will be an introductory meeting for Cumana mission ministry. At the meeting a more detailed schedule and plan regarding short term mission ministry and interim pastor Ray mission field will take place. After the short term mission the annual Flying High youth joint retreat will take place at Yangji Presbyterian Church on August 11-15.
