World Vision Korea Desk began its effort to set up Korean American youths as future leaders to solve global poverty.

The World Vision headquarter tour named ¡®Vision Tour for Future Leaders¡¯ is a creative program taking place for Korean American children promoted by Korea Desk within World Vision US. Jun Suh Park Asian support development vice-president who first planned this program explained the background ¡°Many youths raised in U.S. take for granted the current material abundance but in reality the world has one person in 7 seconds that is dying due to the lack of food, drinking water, and proper medical facilities. World Vision began promoting this program with the purpose to raise future leaders that will contribute toward solving these global problems.¡±

¡®Vision Tour for Future Leaders¡¯ World Vision tour program became attainable as World Vision U.S. Federal Way headquarters installed a visitor center with cutting edge visual and auditory senses in January. In the visitor center there is movie camera, historical photo, video resource and emergency aid kit displayed true to nature which was used by World Vision founder Dr. Bob Pierce to present the terrible sight of Korean War. Especially there is a miniature ¡®AIDS Experience¡¯ that is touring the America for the youths to experience the impact of AIDS through the eyes of the children in Africa.

Tacoma Trinity Church youth group was the first Korean American church to visit the visitor center to participate in the World Vision tour that lasted about 2 hours on March 28.

A youth group student that participated in the World Vision tour commented, ¡°I didn¡¯t know that there were so many children suffering due to the lack of water and food. I wish to live a life to help these children by going on to university.
