The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May inviting Christians to intercede for America and its leadership in the seven centers of power: Government, Military, Media, Business, Education, Church and Family. It will take place at Glory Church of Jesus Christ on May 1 7:30 p.m.
The prayer meeting that is managed by The Council of Korea Churches in Southern CA, biblical movement headquarter, JAMA will be praying for America, nation leadership, election, American troops dispatched overseas, students, America¡¯s recovery and spiritual revival with the theme ¡°Prayer! America¡¯s Strength and Shield¡± and is based on the verse from Psalm 28: 7.
The ¡®National Day of Prayer¡¯ is designated to be on the first Thursday of May each year is the 57th this year. Dr. Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade for Christ International, wife Vonette Bright served as the chairman and currently now Shirley Dobson wife of James Dobson, Focus on the Family, is serving as chairman.
The ¡®National Day of Prayer¡¯ was requested to be necessary in 1863 by Abraham Lincoln and was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.
