▲Young Adult Church Worship Mission Training ministers

Bethel Korean Church is planning a big work for the young adults.

To settle down the young adults that are leaving church and raise them as young adult leader through education and training the ‘Young Adult Church Worship Mission Training’ will give it’s inaugural service on May 4.

‘Young Adult Church Worship Mission Training’ is going with the motto as a worship mission training church. The church began to obey the calling of God toward the young adult generations and for the new ‘view’ and ‘approach’ for young adult ministry of immigrant church.

Church is not separate or independent but through a new paradigm of combination and unity consider ‘service, mission, training’ highly and dream of church that worship is life, and church where life is worship.

‘Young Adult Church Worship Mission Training’ is not a departmental concept but church. Since it’s a church it has mission, help the poor, community service ministry. If there is a difference it is that everything will be lead by young adults and not going separately from Bethel Korean Church but a church managed within the church.

There will be some people who may wonder what church inside of a church means. “The concept of a church and department is completely different. If you do things as a church then there is more independent and freedom. Based on more freedom and independent take care of young adults and allow one person individually to have identity of Christ,” said Young Adult Church Pastor Kyoung-il Sohn.

Young Adult Church is in a position of beginning newly therefore there could be some things that are lacking and more work to be done. Therefore are in need of prayer and concern of young adult ministers from other churches.

The minister and representative of the church are not young adults just because it is a church for young adults. There are ministers dispatched from mother church, Bethel Korean Church. They will do ministry together with young adults and help them to grow as great leaders.

Bethel Korean Church beginning of Young Adult Church is done taking a big risk. A church to be separated means that for the new church that many people of congregants will decrease and that could bring a big inconvenience to the ministry that is being done in the church. Young Adult Church has 250 congregants and 5 ministers.

Bethel Korean Church has taken this big risk and came to this conclusion shows that they consider the ministry of young adults this importantly. Even young adults in Korea, U.S. are continuously leaving the churches and acknowledging the seriousness of the situation with a long preparation and prayer decided to establish Young Adult Church.

For Young Adult Church pastor Peter Sohn called pastor Kyoung-il Sohn back to LA who was doing mission in Japan. He was an associate pastor of Bethel Korean Church and it has been a month since he was newly appointed as pastor of Young Adult Church.

There are several things to observe carefully at Young Adult Church and one of them is the church logo. Like the motto church where service is life the logo also embeds the same meaning.

The ministers with the inaugural service of ‘Young Adult Church Worship Mission Training’ ahead showed excited heart toward young adult ministry and showed anticipation and enthusiasm regarding young adult ministry.
