Seminar for Parent and Children
¡®1st Youth Conference¡¯ and alcohol, drug prevention seminar By Grace E. Kim

The ¡®1st Youth Conference¡¯ took place together with the Korean organization in New York and New Jersey on April 26 at Queens YWCA.
The host provided beneficial plan to the youths regarding various social issue, sex education, leadership, community service, entering university including alcohol and drug addiction.
The Queens YWCA regarding ¡®civil activities and social participation¡¯ provided sex crimes prevention and self-defense seminar with Queens Public Prosecutor¡¯s Office. Korean American Behavioral Health Association lectured about youth mental health problem greeting the 1st anniversary of Virginia Tech incident especially regarding Korean American youths problem of bullying and depression.
Princeton University course counselor Ellen Kim lectured about entering university, also there was a seminar for parents regarding the need of Korean education and effective community method with your child.
The conference was cosponsored by Korean American Youth Foundation greeting its 15th anniversary together with Korean American Voter¡¯s Council, Young Korean American Service and Education Center, Korean American Behavioral Health Association, Queens YWCA.
The Shin Kwang Church of NY held a smoking, alcohol, drug prevention education seminar for parents and children with the theme ¡®Youth is Our Future¡¯ on April 26. Continuing from the seminar that took place at The True Light Presbyterian Church in New Jersey on April 19 the seminar is for 7-12th grade youth and parents hosted by Family in Touch and Youth & Family Focus.
