Train Youth Christian Leader Through ¡®Joint Ministy'

United youth rally ¡®Uni-Son¡¯ hosted by The Council of Korean Churches in San Jose

United youth rally ¡®Uni-Son¡¯ hosted by The Council of Korean Churches in San Jose took place at San Jose New Hope Church on April 26.

400 youths from about 20 Korean American churches near San Jose participated in the event which was held in the format of a seminar with keynote and seminar speakers focused on equipping the students to impact their campus.

The speakers include Charles Yi EM pastor of LA All Nations Church, Jeff Devoll director of MyCampus Ministries who were the keynote speakers and Peter Nelson founder of Common Good Industries, Keivan Tehrani youth pastor of Iranian Christian Church were invited as seminar speakers to lecture about Christian leadership, importance and method of campus mission.

¡°The message was powerful. I wish that there could be more of this kind of gathering,¡± shared Andy Jang (13) from Peterson Middle School. Also Jo Ahn (21) a youth minister of Chinese Bible Church shared, ¡°It was very refreshing that Christian youths gathered beyond individual church to listen to the gospel and have fellowship.¡±

After the gathering there was also time for the participants to gather by individual school to form a network of communication and time of prayer for their individual school to overcome the shortcomings of once in a while youth gatherings.

At the event for the youth generation hosted by The Council of Korean Churches in San Jose the first generations support and help was very active, half the expense of the gathering was supported by The Council of Korean Churches in San Jose, with the location provided willingly by San Jose New Hope Church it helped reduce the financial burden. Also able to see the hidden effort of Amy Kim director of youth department of Council of Korean Churches in San Jose who worked hard since January in inviting the lecturers. The event which lasted for 5 hours from 4 p.m. till 9 p.m. was special sponsored by C.E.N.T.

¡°I anticipate for the united youth rally ¡®Uni-Son¡¯ which came into effect last year to become a continuous joint event,¡± shared Rhyon Kim President of The Council of Korean Churches in San Jose revealing the importance of joint ministry. ¡°Joint ministry continues as campus evangelism,¡± shared the second generation ministers who attended the event requesting for continuous joint ministry.
