As the competition heats up, the contestants of American Idol Season 14 definitely feel the pressure. In the most recent episode, Clark Beckham, Jax Cole, Nick Fridiani, and Rayvon Owen performed all their numbers with the uncertainty of who among them are in the bottom two, according to Cartermatt.com.

With the season coming to a close, it is now high time for the Idol hopefuls to step up their game and outdo one another. In Wednesday's performance, however, it appears that the strong contenders are slowly easing their way to the background while the rather so-so competitors rise to the top. As customary for any competition, however, one of the four remaining American Idol contestant has to go home. Their performances were categorized as Scott Borchetta's choice, their Hometown Dedications, and the Judges' Choice.

After surviving week after week thanks to the infamous Twitter save, it looks like time is up for the social media darling, Rayvon. With him in the bottom two this week was Jax -  a surprising twist considering her incredible performance of My Generation, My Immortal, and Misery Business. Moreover, it is worth noting that Jennifer Lopez even commented that everyone "can feel the finale on her (Jax)." However, Ryan Seacrest went on to clarify that the order of contestants called were not in any way related to the number of votes they garnered.

The tension was palpable especially due to the fact that Rayvon had always managed to survive the elimination rounds via Twitter save. However, it appears that the social media fans decided that Jax deserved the remaining spot in the Top 3 more than their favorite.

Meanwhile, the numbers presented by Rayvon were pretty notable as well. His rendition of Jason Derulo's Want To Want Me truly pushed him out of his comfort zone - ballads - a bit. As this was Borchetta's choice for the Idol hopeful, it could be surmised that the mentor wanted Rayvon to expand his horizon and experiment on other genres.

As for Rayvon's dedication song, he chose As - another upbeat song that is clearly a stretch for him as he usually goes for more mellow tunes. Nonetheless, the judges loved his performance and Keith Urban even said that the eliminated Idol hopeful won Round 2. His last song was Joe Cocker's You Are So Beautiful, which turned out to be an emotional performance for Rayvon.
