Frozen star Idina Menzel backtracked her claims late last year regarding the certainty of releasing a sequel for the blockbuster Disney film, which she then remarked to be "in the works," according to a report from The Time.

"Apparently I spoke out of turn. I just assumed because it was so successful there'd be a sequel," Menzel, who was the voice behind Arendelle's Queen Elsa, disclosed in an interview.

When asked if there is a possibility for a sequel to the highly anticipated film, she admitted her uncertainty on the matter and that the "Disney people keep things close to their chests."

However, the Let It Go singer revealed that Disney is currently working on a stage show revolving around Frozen's plot.

Although no official news has been released regarding the sequel of Frozen, Disney provided more concrete plans on an upcoming short film involving the characters of the show based on a report from The North Western. The seven-minute movie, titled Frozen Fever, will be released on March 13, 2015.

The upcoming animated movie was directed by both Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee. Apart from Queen Elsa, this will feature the original characters, namely, Olaf, voiced by Josh Grad; Princess Anna, voiced by Kristen Bell; and Kristoff, voiced by Jonathan Groff. In addition, the short film is speculated to release a new single from the Let It Go songwriters.

"The gang is back together. And literally it's like we never went away," described Gad. "Every day we're reminded of 'Frozen' in our lives. So it feels like a continuation of a saga that has many parts still untold. It felt like coming home again after a short absence," he added.

Meanwhile, a report from Deadline.com revealed that the film won two Grammy awards this year. The song Let It Go, which already bagged an Oscar prior to this ceremony, unsurprisingly snagged the Best Song For Visual Media award. The song was co-written by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.

The other Grammy award bagged by the film is the Best Compilation Soundtrack.
