There has been a media frenzy ever since Australian magazine Woman's Day broke the news that Prince Harry and Emma Watson are secretly dating.
And just this Sunday, the Harry Potter actress alluded to the reports with a tweet saying: "Remember that little talk we had about not believing everything written in the media?!"
Her tweet just shot down the recent speculations about her love life, and apparently there will never be a true-to-life half-blood prince, as desired by several fans of the supposed union.
The report actually came from the magazine, which claimed that Prince Harry was thrilled when Watson broke up with her British rugby player boyfriend Matthew Janney last year, since this opened the actress up in the dating field.
He allegedly sought a mutual friend to arrange a date with him and Watson, but instead of a one-on-one, the royal was said to have arranged a huge group date so as not to make the actress and UN Ambassador feel uncomfortable.
"Harry didn't want her to feel like she was put on the spot," an insider told the magazine. "A party also shows he's fun and not stuffy."
A source told Woman's Day that Prince Harry would "like to get to know her" and after the date, they got along so well that they began to secretly see each other on occasion.
"He's smitten - and it's more than Emma's looks," another source said.
The magazine even went on to reveal instances when the British actress met with the royal family. Watson met Prince William last year during a cancer charity event, and has even met their father Prince Charles before.
But for its part, Us Magazine confirmed that the dating rumors are false and that the story was completely random
"It's fake," a friend of the royal family said. "It's such a random story. I can see the Internet is going mad for this one."
Aside from Janney, Watson was previously linked to fellow Brown University student Will Adamowicz. They dated from spring 2012 to summer 2013 before calling it quits.
Watson also made headlines last December by sharing photographs during the British Fashion Awards with another Harry - Harry Styles from the boy band One Direction. But Us also dismissed the speculations, saying that sparks did not fly with the musician.
"She has no plans to date Harry Styles," a source told Us before, "though he was nice at the awards."
