In the Harry Potter series, actress Evanna Lynch played the quirky Luna Lovegood who was often sniggered at by her classmates for expressing her weird, one-of-a-kind views, so it's no surprise that Lynch would stand up for people who are different too.

On her Facebook page, the actress wrote about an "ugly Instagram thread" that has really been bothering her, since it slammed homosexuality as "disgusting" and "unnatural." For those who agree with those beliefs, she asked them to "do me a kindness and please unfollow me on all social media platforms. And then block me."

She added that she has been pretty worn out by the nasty, scathing, and downright cruel remarks found on the thread. It's not her life's purpose, she explained, it's just life as she sees it. The actress believes in always promoting a positive message and she doesn't want any "poison" ruining her "carefully curated wall of light and positivity."

"It is possible to not like the idea of homosexuality, to find it a wholly alien, uncomfortable concept and to NOT impose this view on the people it affects and above all to NOT shame people for the way they are," she wrote. "If you can't handle this concept, then kindly LEAVE my page."

She said that there are other fiercer, more articulate, more outspoken, and more controversial figures who lead the LQBTQ+ community who will be able to debate with the trolls she found on the thread, but not her. All she wants is for them to leave her social media accounts because she cannot deal with their "venom."

Lynch even used her Harry Potter character to stress her point: "I think it's safe to assume that the majority of you on here clicked 'like' on account of my portrayal of the character 'Luna Lovegood'...The clue is in the name, people! Luna Lovegood's love is a GOOD kind of love. It is not conditional or possessive or needy or demanding. It doesn't fall apart the moment you expose a piece of yourself that is unconventional or even unbecoming."

The actress said that Luna accepts all people and creatures in all forms, and loves them just as they are. She is constantly in awe of diversity and strangeness, and these are things that people can learn from her. The actress, for one, learned how to love herself because of Luna and she said that she does not understand why there are people who need to make others feel awful about themselves.
