HTC has announced that it is preparing to roll out the Android 5.1 Lollipop update to its various devices.

Based on the company's announcement, these include the One M8, One M7 and the One Max. The company noted that more devices will be added to the roll out in the near future.

According to Master Herald, the release of the update is expected to begin in August of this year for users residing in the U.K. As for those in other countries, they may have to wait a bit longer for the availability of the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for their HTC devices.

For the update, users can expect to receive bug fixes that will solve most of the issues that appeared in previous versions of the Android Lollipop. Some of these include freezing apps, forced reboot and constant battery drains, Yibada reported.

But aside from focusing on glitches, HTC noted that the Android 5.1 Update will not only improve the OS's overall performance but will also enhance the company's own Sense 7.0.

Through the update and its improvements on the HTC Sense 7.0, users will be able to update their special apps through Google's Play Store. In addition, the device's screen will have a bigger space for configurations and the notifications menu.

Other enhancements include customizable navigation controls which will allow users to relocate them at the bottom of the screen and the addition of HTC-inspired themes for icons and fonts.

Since the company is aiming to improve its HTC Sense 7.0 through Android 5.1 Lollipop, its developers are currently working on the technical aspects of the two systems. Also, the update will still have to go through various testing phases before it is released to the public.

These are probably the main reasons why it will take about two months before the company releases the update for HTC users.
