The first ever major campaign rally of Hillary Clinton was marked by the release of her song list for the upcoming election. Putting up the list in the music streaming service, Spotify, the 2016 United States presidential hopeful shared with her fans and followers via Twitter the exciting news, according to New York Daily News.
"Now playing: The official #Hillary2016 @Spotify playlist! Listen here," Clinton posted in her official Twitter account, adding the link to her Spotify music list in the same announcement. According to sources, the aspiring candidate's music list does not include songs released before the year 1999. Hence, many experts took this to indicate that Clinton might be primarily targeting the millennials in her 2016 presidential bid.

The list is composed of 14 tracks which feature artists with very diverse backgrounds. However, the songs appear to echo roughly the same sentiments - that is, Clinton is a strong and independent woman who aims to rule and serve the people to the best of her abilities.
Rolling Stone points out that Clinton chose songs that showcase her capacity to overcome obstacles and hurdle the problems that come her way. The top song in her list is "Believer" by the band American Authors. Decoding the reason behind the decision to choose this song was a no-brainer. As Jezebel pointed out, the lyrics of this single speak for itself and clearly reflect the battle cry of Clinton. These include the words, "I'm just a believer/ That things will get better/ Some can take it or leave it/ But I don't wanna let it go."
Apart from "Believer," Clinton also chose "Best Day of My Life" from the same band to be part of the list. The said single landed the number six spot in the Spotify playlist. Meanwhile, "The Fighter" by Gym Class Heroes is at number two. With the lyrics, "Half the population's just waitin to see me fail/ Yeah right, you're better off trying to freeze hell/ Some of us do it for the females," it is quite apparent what message Clinton is trying to put across.
Katy Perry is also part of the Spotify list with her hit single, "Roar." The fourth spot is given to Arianna Grande's "Break Free," which is a song she released with the famous DJ and Selena Gomez's rumored ex flame, Zedd. The fifth place is taken by Kelly Clarkson's "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You).
The chart topping single of "The Voice" judge, Pharell Williams, titled "Happy," is also in the Spotify list at number seven. Latino fans are also represented as "Let's Get Loud" by Jennifer Lopez makes it to the list as well. NONONO is at number nine with "Pumpin Blood," with John Legend, The Roots, Common and Melanie Fiona at number 10 for their single, "Wake Up Everybody."
Sara Bareilles' inspiring single, "Brave" is at number 11, while Kris Allen's "Fighters" and Jon Bon Jovi's "Beautiful Day" are at numbers 12 and 13, respectively. Rounding up the Clinton Spotify playlist is Marc Anthony's "Vivir Mi Vida."
