'Spider Man's' Emma Stone Talks About 'Irrational Man,' Andrew Garfield and Her Name in Multiple Leaked Sony Emails

'The Amazing Spider-Man' franchise star Emma Stone

Emma Stone recently opened up about her personal life and the privacy issues that arose following the leaked Sony emails.

In an interview with WSJ Magazine, the Oscar nominee admitted that she does not prefer to discuss her life with boyfriend Andrew Garfield owing to the numerous speculations that have come about regarding their relationship.

"It's so special to me that it never feels good to talk about, so I just continually don't talk about it," the star said.

The couple had recently gotten back together after reports that the "Amazing Spider-Man' co-stars took a break from dating.

"There's probably some rebelliousness that comes out in me after all these stories and people texting you for weeks about something that, for the most part, is not true. But even when it's false, I would rather just let it be false," the 26-year-old actress said.

Stone also opened up about her privacy being violated after the Sony hacking scandal. Owing to the fact that the "Easy A' star made an appearance in many of the studio's movies, her name was often mentioned in the leaked messages.

She also revealed that she felt most violated when her cellphone number and email address had been published on WikiLeaks several weeks ago.

"I was getting all these emails and texts from people I didn't know "” "Hi, I'm Joe from the U.K. I like your movies' "” and I was so overwhelmed that I went to my inbox and I deleted all my emails," Stone shared, while adding that she deeply regretted taking such action that also affected her treasured messages.

One of the leaked emails from Sony hacking scandal revealed that former studio head Amy Pascal informed "Ghostbusters' producer Ivan Reitman that Stone was one of the A-list actresses who have taken interest in bagging a role for the upcoming all-female reboot.

However, the "Birdman' actress said that she eventually passed on the movie because she does not feel prepared for committing to another franchise, especially after coming from the previous "Amazing Spider-Man' film franchise.

Stone is set to appear next on Woody Allen's mystery drama movie "Irrational Man,' which also stars Joaquin Phoenix and follows the story of a philosophy professor in the midst of an existential crisis. It is set for an official release on July 17.
