HTC One Max Getting Android Lollipop 5.0 Update

Numerous users are reporting that they have received the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for their HTC One Max devices.

Based on the reports, the update is now available in selected Asian and European markets, according to Uber Gizmo.

HTC officially released the One Max smartphone in October of 2013 and equipped it with the Android 4.4.2 KitKat with the Sense 6.0. Although the company skipped the KitKat version 4.4.4 for the device, it seems One Max owners will get a significant update with the arrival of the Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Based on tweets from users, the Android 5.0 Lollipop update has been released in Taiwan, Italy, Poland, France and the Czech Republic. Given the global roll out, One Max owners in the U.S. can also expect to receive the update soon since the device was sold by major carriers in the country such as Sprint, Verizon and AT&T.

But, as noted by Phone Arena, the release of the update in the U.S. might take some time since carriers usually conduct their roll outs in stages.

Although HTC has not yet released the notes or other details of the update for the One Max, it probably comes with the basic features of the Android 5.0 Lollipop such as the Material Design and improved notifications settings.

But aside from version 5.0, HTC confirmed earlier this month that it plans to seed the Android 5.1 Lollipop update to its various devices including the One M8, One M7 and One Max, Master Herald reported.

According to the news site, the update will come with the Sense 7.0. Through HTC's own software upgrade, users will be able to update some of their special apps through Google's Play Store.

In addition, the Sense 7.0 comes with an improved home screen appearance that features a bigger configuration space. The update is also expected to expand the notifications menu.
