'Aquaman' Movie Release Date:Jason Momoa To Appear in 'Suicide Squad' and 'Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice?'

Aquaman

Reports are circulating that Jason Momoa's Aquaman might be in trouble in "Suicide Squad" as Umberto Gonzales of Heroic Hollywood reveals that the superhero is being held as prisoner in a containment chamber following reports that his trident was seen inside the trophy case of the formidable Amanda Waller.

Gonzales posted the same speculation in his official Instagram account. He wrote, "Sources tell me in the lower levels of the prison where #AMANDAWALLER keeps all the SUPER POWERED META HUMANS, she has inside a trophy case - #AQUAMAN's TRIDENT as seen in the recently released still with #JasonMomoa! How did she come into the trident's possession?" Gonzales added, "What happened to Aquaman in #BatmanvSupermanDawnofJustice? The plot certainly thickens! Very cool nonetheless. Love me a good mystery. #trident #DC #dccu #dccomics #dc movie #SCOOP #SUPERPOWEREDMETAHUMANS #BatmanvsSuperman"

While no official word has been given on Aquaman's participation in the aforementioned film, some sources confirmed that the trident carrying superhero will take part of the widely anticipated "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice," according to Cinema Blend. Apart from Momoa's Aquaman, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman is reported to appear in the 2016 film as well. In addition, Ezra Miller's The Flash is set to appear in "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" as well. Batman is also reportedly making an appearance in "Suicide Squad," the news is yet to be confirmed. Cinema Blend further reveals that Aquaman will be seen by Batman as the former is held prisoner in a containment chamber, where we see "his hand slap against the glass."

Meanwhile, We Got This Covered reports that Aquaman's inclusion in "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" is the road chosen by the studio to introduce the superhero and prepare the fans and followers for his stand alone film in 2018. In connection with the speculation regarding the King of Atlantis' appearance in "Suicide Squad," the same report shares that Aquaman will be spotted as one of the heroes held captive while Batman reviews a surveillance footage.

Sources claim that Aquaman's detention in Waller's chamber came after she saw the superhero engage in a battle against "a mutated shark who is being held in the same prison as he is." The said shark is none other than King Shark, played by Raymond Olubowale. Both are reportedly held captive due to Waller's interest in their extraordinary capabilities. Hence, it could be speculated that research on their genes and whatnot are being conducted.

"Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" will hit theatres on March 25, 2016, while "Suicide Squad" will be out on August 5 of the same year.
