Kunal Nayyar, the actor who plays the lovable Raj Koothrappali in "The Big Bang Theory" will be joining another TV show as a savvy businessman.

According to the TV Insider, Raj will play Sendhil, a charming hedge fund manager in "The Mindy Project." His character will reportedly woo lead star Mindy the OB/GYN since they have been set up for marriage by her parents Ajay Mehta and Sakina Jaffrey.

As expected, this news does not sit well with Danny (played by Chris Messina), who will stop at nothing to disrupt the plans of Mindy's parents and win her back for himself.

"The Big Bang Theory" fans need not worry about this piece of news though, since Nayyar's appearance in "The Mindy Project" is only temporary and he has no plans of leaving the show that has catapulted him, together with co-stars Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Simon Helberg, Melissa Rauch, and Mayim Bialik - into fame.

In "The Big Bang Theory," Nayyar plays astrophysicist Raj, who has always been unlucky in love. For the past several seasons, he cannot speak in front of women, but he was eventually able to do so with the help of alcohol.

He finally got a girlfriend, a dermatologist named Emily during season 8; however, Raj admitted to being terrified of Emily's weird interests and planned to break things off with her. He was unable to do so in the end out of fear of hurting her feelings.

His character has often been teased for being a metrosexual, since he has a deep appreciation for cooking, cleaning, and hosting parties. Raj also makes a lot of references to movies and pop culture media that are often associated with women.

Another thing about Raj is that he has quite the blooming "bromance" with his best friend Howard Wolowitz, since the two spend a lot of time doing things together and talking about things, even more so than Howard does with his wife Bernadette.

The one great love of Raj's life is his Yorkshire Terrier named Cinnamon, and Howard has teased Raj relentlessly for saying loving words to her more than his actual girlfriend Emily.

Raj is born from a wealthy Indian family but he has withheld this information from his friends for the longest time, even asking Howard to shell out for him during certain occasions. Surprisingly, he detests Indian food and does not know much about their culture.
