Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber have been known to be an on and off couple since they began dating in 2011. Mere months following the news of their romantic relationship became public, both the Disney star and the "Boyfriend" singer have been hounded by various issues ranging from third party rumors to potential pregnancy concealments. However, Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber still ended up having the time of their lives with each other - that is, up until the infidelity claims surrounding the "One Less Lonely Girl" crooner could no longer be ignored by the former girlfriend of Nick Jonas and a breakup just seemed inevitable.

While tabloids have been quite active in covering every angle of the Justin Bieber - Selena Gomez romance drama, the Disney star had been consistently mum on the issue and often opted to not discuss her relationship with the Canadian pop star. In an interview with The Sunday Times UK, however, Selena Gomez gave readers a glimpse of her relationship with the pop star and how difficult it was for the both of them to keep their romance under wraps.

While Selena Gomez openly pointed out that the romance with Justin Bieber is definitely over, the Disney star is aware of the fact that the fans and followers of their relationship still find it difficult to adjust to their separation. Citing that they were both at the peak of their careers when they got together, Selena Gomez shared that every move she made with Justin Bieber had been the subject of intense media scrutiny - with the onset of the Internet further fueling the fire.

"It's difficult for people to separate us," shared Selena Gomez in the interview, referring to the fact that her name has been constantly dragged in the headlines whenever Justin Bieber makes the news. The former Disney star added, "The Internet wants to freeze this moment in time and constantly repeat it.

Although many labeled her romantic relationship with Justin Bieber as something "toxic," Selena Gomez was quick to point out that what they had was typical - a romance that could have happened to any teenager at some point. However, she was also conscious of the fact that her clean image and Justin Bieber's antics during his teenage years did not make a good combination to the public. She then went on to note that her relationship with Justin Bieber was not as tumultuous as people made it seem to be, citing that she merely fell in love with a person some people perceived to be bad for her.

"I didn't think I was doing anything bad by falling in love," revealed Selena Gomez, referring to the disapproval of her fans and followers over her romance with Justin Bieber. She added, "There's such an emphasis on people being the perfect thing and then destroying them because it's good press. Also throw in the fact that you are a teenager - it makes it more difficult."

At the moment, Selena Gomez revealed that there is no special person in her life romantically. Although she disclosed that she has been quite busy with her work commitment, the former Disney star does not rule out finding romance soon. She shared, "The next relationship will be something dear to me." Selena Gomez added, "There is no way I will ever hide my life."
