There have been a series of court cases at the U.S. Supreme Court regarding state government officials' right to pray during official gatherings, the right to demonstrate against abortion, and whether Obama care will be covering abortion.
In a nutshell, the core of the issue lies in the fact that the federal government has not been showing a very consistent attitude towards its citizens; believers and nonbelievers alike. On the one hand we have non-Christians bringing up the idea that the nation is favoring Christians because members of the state government pray during their gatherings. It has become an issue because, despite the fact that most of the politicians present were believers, occasional men and women of other faiths were asked to lead the prayer.
On the other hand, we have Christians thinking the other way around because the government had limited their distance from hospitals when demonstrating against abortion.
Perhaps all Americas actually are equal before the law. However, believers should be aware that though this nation was once founded to be the ideal Christian world, the federal government has not been showing consistency regarding its ideals.
