"This was probably the most unfortunate team ever."

Hearty laughter from the congregation of LA Nam Seoul Grace Church followed this statement from the pastor, after a brief presentation and testimony on the team of four that had just returned from a mission trip to Tijuana, Mexico the previous Saturday.

Two students and a pastor from LANGC along with another student from Glory Church of Jesus Christ combined forces to answer a call for assistance from a missionary in the border city of Tijuana to assist two local churches host a vacation Bible study and English camp for three days. The team was put together. Around twenty four hours after the team was scrambled together, literally on New Year's, the four men set off from Los Angeles towards San Diego and to the U.S. border.

With no plan for ministry or a kinder garden level English class the team divided to serve at two local Mexian churches; one group teaching English to the children while the other hosted a VBS.

Though there was no actual evangelism taking place, the local pastors and the Korean missionary in Tijuana thanked the team for their services, particularly the students for dedicating their winter breaks for this mission trip. Even the local church children expressed their gratitude and farewells with great expectation of seeing their new Korean American friends next time.
