Widely recognized as one of Hollywood's popular leading men, news of Daniel Craig's latest onscreen role has made the headlines as a highly surprising piece of information.

Last week, Simon Pegg accidentally revealed that the "Skyfall' actor will make an appearance in the upcoming "Star Wars' film as a Stormtrooper.

Pegg was being asked about his role in the upcoming sci-fi movie and he told the Sun: "I wasn't a Stormtrooper. Daniel Craig, he was a Stormtrooper." He quickly took back his statement, saying: "I shouldn't have said that."

The "007' actor was speculated to play a small part in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens'; however, details regarding such role has not yet been announced.

"Daniel asked for some sort of secret cameo role - and was happy to have his name left off the posters," an insider claimed. "Fans will love trying to work out which covered-up character is him."

Meanwhile, Craig recently continued filming the new James Bond film "Spectre' following the emergency surgery for his knee with which the Hollywood star is expected to have already made a full recovery.

The actor was spotted arriving in London at the Heathrow Airport three weeks ago to work on more scenes for "Spectre', which has been set for an official release this November.

Aside from Craig, "Spectre' also stars Christoph Waltz, Monica Bellucci, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw and Naomie Harris as Moneypenny.

The upcoming movie focuses on the events following the bombing of MI6; after receiving a cryptic message, James Bond is set to confront SPECTRE, a sinister organization. With Gareth Mallory appointed as the new M, politics and controversies continue to surround MI6 which puts it in grave danger.

In his quest, Bond travels all over the world to confront an old enemy through whom he will discover new information that puts the agent and his work at the secret service agency in a more complex web of controversy.

Directed by Sam Mendes, the action adventure film marks Craig's fourth time to portray Bond. While it was believed that the actor sustained his knee injury while carrying out a stunt for the highly anticipated film, Craig recently opened up to Jimmy Kimmel about trying to perform as many of the scenes as he can.

"I like the fact that occasionally you'll see on screen that it's my face and it's me," he said. "And I think audiences hopefully appreciate that."
