‘Batman: Arkham Knight’ Trailer & Release Date: Game Play Details Revealed in New Video Teaser [Watch]

Batman: Arkham Knight

Rocksteady Studios, the developer behind "Batman: Arkham Knight," has released a new video showcasing game play elements from the upcoming title.

The clip focuses on the game's dual play mode, which allows players to team up with one of Batman's allies.

The video starts with the caped crusader infiltrating Penguin's hideout. As he drops in on the villain's henchmen, he is joined by his sidekick Nightwing and the two heroes begin beating them up.

At first, it might appear as if the game supports co-op mode because of how Batman and Nightwing individually moves to fight the goons. Also, during the scuffle, the two can execute combos to take out a single enemy.

However, the game only has single-player mode and as pointed out by Gamerant, the dual play system allows gamers to switch from Batman to Nightwing during combat scenarios. In addition, they can also string together fight combos during the transition between characters.

Aside from Nightwing, gamers playing as Batman can also team up with other characters such as Robin and Catwoman, depending on the parameters of the mission. Also, these supporting heroes will only appear if Batman is greatly outnumbered.

Rocksteady Studios previously explained that in the world of "Arkham Knight," gamers can feel as strong as Batman, who is capable of taking on around 10 henchmen at once. Once more goons join the fight, gamers can utilize the other heroes to help the main character.

But based on the combat system shown in the video, gamers will not have a hard time taking on hordes of henchmen with Batman only. Although they can put up a fight, these minor villains only attack one at a time. The others just stand around, seemingly waiting for their turn to take on the Dark Knight.

"Batman: Arkham Knight," the last installment of the "Batman: Arkham" series, will be released on June 23. It will be available for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms.
