Gran Turismo 7' PS4 Release Date, Gameplay & Features: Here's What We Know So Far About 'GT7' Game!

Gran Turismo 6

Game developer Polyphony Digital will reportedly officially unveil "Gran Turismo 7" in June during this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo.

Despite the launch being months away, various reports are already giving gamers a glimpse of what they can expect in the latest installment of the popular racing game franchise, according to Master Herald.

In 2014, the studio confirmed that it is working on a full version of the seventh installment of the series. According to Polyphony Digital, the game will be released exclusively for the PlayStation 4.

With the technical quality of Sony's next-gen console in mind, the studio is aiming to create better visual quality for "Gran Turismo 7," which translates to an improved game play experience.

In addition, rumors suggest that Polyphony Digital is thinking of including a new race course to the game. The course will be based on and probably named after the Mountain Course of the Isle of Man, Reality Today reported.

This area has a racing circuit that spans 37 miles and is home of the yearly motorcycle racing event, the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy Race.

Rumors about the inclusion of the Isle of Man emerged in 2014 after employees from Sony, the publisher of the "Gran Turismo" series, visited the area to survey the racing course and its surroundings, according to IOM Today.

Of course, the highlight of any "Gran Turismo" game is its roster of cars. For "Gran Turismo 7", Kazunori Yamauchi, the creator of the series and the CEO of Polyphony Digital, said that the game will feature both standard and premium cars.

"I doubt we'll be throwing away the standard cars," he told Eurogamer. "Each car has its own fans. So I think we'll hang on to the archive."

"In the meanwhile, some of those cars we may be able to make into premium cars as they become available - but basically we're more interested on increasing the number of premium cars," Yamauchi added.

Although there is no official release date yet, "Gran Turismo 7" is expected to hit the market sometime in 2016 or 2017.
