Xiaomi, a maker of consumer electronic products based in China, is rumored to be working on its latest flagship smartphone dubbed as the Mi 5. Although the tech firm has not yet confirmed anything regarding the product, the device's full specification have already been leaked online.

NDTV reported that a Chinese blogger posted on Weibo the features of the Xiaomi Mi 5 along with a couple of its images.

According to the blogger, the rumored device will sport a 5.2-inch Quad HD display with multi-touch features and a resolution of 1440x2560 pixels. It will be equipped with a 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera.

Its processor will reportedly be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 and the device will have 4GB of RAM.

It has also been rumored that the device will come in two versions based on its built-in storage: the 16GB and the 64GB models. However, the listing on GSM Arena indicated that the Mi 5 will only come with 32GB of internal storage and will not have a slot for a microSD card. If this is true, then it means the handset's storage cannot be expanded.

The site also noted that the smartphone will run using the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and will have the Adreno 430 graphics card

Another rumored featured of the Mi 5 is its fingerprint scanner. Currently, this feature can only be seen in high-end handsets such as the Apple iPhone 6, Samsung Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9+.

But earlier this week, NDTV reported that Xiaomi has filed a patent for a fingerprint recognition technology through the State Intellectual Property Office of China.

Although the company has not yet released a statement regarding the inclusion of the fingerprint scanner on the Mi 5, filing a patent for it suggests that Xiaomi plans to unveil the technology through the successor of its Mi 4.
