"Star Wars' fans worldwide are celebrating Intergalactic Star Wars Day on Monday, May 4. The slogan of the day is "May the fourth be with you." The phrase is derived from a quote in the film. Star Wars is a science-fiction movie franchise that first released in the late 70's.

Episode I "The Phantom Menace," Ep. II "Attack of the Clones," Ep. III "Revenge of the Sith," Ep. IV "A New Hope," Ep. V "The Empire Strikes Back," and Ep. VI "Return of the Jedi" are six of the main 'Star Wars' movies. Ep. VII "The Force Awakens" premieres on December 18, 2015.

"May the Force be with you," is a quote that is said by a character in every 'Star Wars' movie.

In Ep. I, the line is said by Qui-Gon Jinn and Mace Windu. Obi-Wan Kenobi says it in Ep. II. Mace Windu says, "May the Force be with us all" in Ep. III. Darth Vader says "the Force is strong with this one" in Ep. IV. Luke Skywalker says the line in Ep. V. Admiral Ackbar says, "may the Force be with us" in Ep. VI.

"May the Force be with you" placed 8th on American Film Institute (AFI)'s list of 100 movie quotes. All six of the "Star Wars' movie series premiered in the month of May. May is also "Star Wars' creator George Lucas' birthday month. Walt Disney World also begins Star Wars Weekends in May.
