After stirring up a verbal controversy involving co-star Scarlett Johansson, "Avengers: Age of Ultron' actor Jeremy Renner has proved that he has nothing more but sweet words for the actress.

Posting a red carpet photo with Johansson, the Hawkeye actor also shared a tweet, saying: "Happy FIRST Mother's Day to you! What a beautiful blessing for you and your girl #sweetscarlet #mothersday."

Johansson gave birth to her first child, Rose Dorothy, with her spouse Romain Dauriac last September 2014.

Aside from his "Avengers' costar, Renner also showed some love for his mother on Facebook as he shared a photo of them together with the caption: " Dear mom, thanks for showing me love, compassion, strength even when i didn't deserve it. Real life hero ?#"Žmothersday?."

Last month, Renner caught the attention of "Avengers' fans and the public in general after he made a "tasteless joke" about Johansson's character, the Black Widow, during an interview with an online publication.

The 44-year-old actor called the Marvel character a "slut" for not ending up with Hawkeye in the last scene of "Age of Ultron.'

In addition, their costar Chris Evans, who portrays Captain America, jokingly added that the Black Widow character "flirts with everybody."

After making the headlines when the interview went viral online, both actors issued an apology with Renner explaining that it "was not meant in a serious way."

Two weeks later, the "American Hustle' actor opened up the issue on an interview during a "Conan' appearance.

"It was a joke - off-colored or whatever - but yeah, I'm unapologetic about a lot of things ... mind you, I was talking about a fictional character and fictional behavior," Renner said to show host Conan O' Brien.

Meanwhile, Johansson already confirmed that filming for the film adaptation of Japanese animated series "Ghost in the Shell' will begin early next year as she shared during a press conference for "Avengers: Age of Ultron.'

"It's happening. It will be shooting the beginning of next year, so I think we start production January or February and it's me and Rupert [Sanders]; and that's all I know", the actress shared.

"Ghost in the Shell' has been scheduled for a release during the week that "The Smurfs' reboot will hit cinemas and the week after "The Divergent Series: Allegiant Part 2' will make its debut.
