‘Fallout 4’ Release Date for PS4, Xbox One, PC Confirmed as Trailer Reveals Boston Setting [Video]

Fallout 3

Development studio Bethesda has officially announced through its website that the game "Fallout 4" will be arriving for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.

In addition, the studio released the first official trailer for the upcoming game, according to Kotaku.

The clip begins with a "Stand By" television message before panning out to feature a dilapidated house. From there, the perspective of the video shifts from the pre and post-apocalyptic representations of the surroundings.

In the pre-apocalyptic depiction, the male narrator, who is voiced by actor Ron Perlman, is saying that he's just received some breaking news.

In the post-apocalyptic scenario, on the other hand, a German shepherd dog roams inside the abandoned house. The narrator then reports that nuclear detonations have occurred.

The video then cuts to various scenes showing images of what gamers can expect to see in the game. These include areas, vehicles and even other characters.

Based on what was shown in the trailer, the setting of "Fallout 4" is Boston, Massachusetts. This is given away by scenes showing some of the city's iconic locations such as Paul Revere's statue, Bunker Hill Monument, the USS Constitution and the Massachusetts State House.

The trailer then returns to the dog that is now joined by its human owner. As noted by Game Spot, the character shown is voiced. If this is the game's playable character, it will be the first time that the "Fallout" series will feature a talking protagonist.

More details about the game are expected to be revealed by Bethesda during the upcoming E3 press briefing. This will be held in Los Angeles and is scheduled to take place on June 14.

Currently, there are no new announcements yet as to when "Fallout 4" will be released but fans of the series can start pre-ordering their copies of the game by visiting Bethesda's website.
