After starring as a pair of incompatible police officers in the 2010 action-comedy film "The Other Guys', Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg are back once again in the upcoming movie "Daddy's Home.'

Released just in time for Father's Day weekend, its first ever trailer has arrived and gives viewers a glimpse of two fathers who are fighting over the affection of their two small kids.

Ferrell takes on the role of a gentle and meek radio executive named Brad who has finally gotten his wish of becoming a parent. However, he takes a shortcut and marries a woman, played by Linda Cardellini, who already has children of her own.

As their own father is mostly absent from their lives, Ferrell's character steps into the father-figure role but with more than a few challenges to address.

As a special-operation agent, the kids' real father returns to take his daddy duties back. Dusty makes sure that he exerts an effort in winning his kids over, which clearly spells trouble for Brad.

One of the clip's funniest moments, with Ferrell hurling a basketball at a cheerleader's face by accident, was spoiled when footage of the actual filming leaked out earlier this year. The scene was shot during halftime at the New Orleans Pelicans' Smoothie King Center and shows Ferrell's stepdad character being kicked out of the arena after the unpleasant incident.

"The League' actor Paul Scheer also makes an appearance in "Daddy's Home' as a basketball halftime show emcee while comedian Hannibal Buress has also signed on but details about his role are yet to be revealed.

The upcoming comedy flick is helmed by Sean Anders and John Morris, the duo who worked on "Horrible Bosses 2', "We're the Millers', "Dumb and Dumber To' and "Hot Tub Time Machine.'

'Daddy's Home' will hit cinemas on Christmas Day this year.

Meanwhile, Wahlberg was recently spotted making an appearance in "Entourage' and will be starring in "Ted 2', which will be released next month.

Ferrell took on a leading role in the comedy film "Get Hard' alongside Kevin Hart earlier this year and is set to return for "Zoolander 2' to reprise his role as Mugatu. He also made an impressive appearance in the Lifetime film "A Deadly Adoption', which also stars Kristen Wiig and aired over Father's Day weekend.
