Growing up with the glare of the spotlight shining through everything you do is definitely no easy feat. In an interview with Elvis Duran, the former Disney star, Selena Gomez, reveals just as much and shares how she struggled with the fame and attention she received throughout the years, according to Us Magazine.

Addressing the rumors surrounding her, which range from scandalous teen pregnancy related gossips to drug-linked concerns, Gomez says that her own behavior and demeanor should serve as proofs to the claims thrown against her. She states that considering how public all her actions have become, she now has nothing to hide. She shares, "My life is so public that I do take that into consideration. But I'm also a normal person, I'm a human being and I'm feeling things." Gomez adds, "I feel like I'm figuring out who I am and I'm constantly being... well not constantly, but I've been criticized for trying to live my life."

Unsurprisingly, Gomez's interview also tackles her turbulent romance with none other than Canadian pop star Justin Bieber. In connection with their past relationship, her single, titled "The Heart Wants What The Heart Wants," becomes the topic of the interview.

While she never publicly confirmed that the said track was directed to her critics with regard her romance with the "Boyfriend" singer, Gomez says just as much in this interview. She explains that since she could not utter a single word without getting dissected for hidden meanings and interpreted in various ways, she attempted to find a different outlet for the message she wanted to put across.

"That's why I had to start doing it through my music and that was the whole reason why The Heart Wants What it Wants came out because I was like I have a right to say what I'm going to say," she elucidates. She adds, "If you're going to sit here and talk about my life, I have a right to say what I want and obviously I'm going to do it the way I wish to. But it is unfortunate, and you have to be guarded. I just told you during the break, I don't trust anyone... It's something that I have to live with and I have to find the balance of who I want in my life and who isn't good for me."

Meanwhile, Gomez recently released a new single in collaboration with A$AP Rocky, titled "Good For You," according to Billboard. Fans and followers of the singer have already shown their support for the track as it now has the top spot in the music charts since it was launched. In addition, even Gomez's close friend, Taylor Swift, admits just how much she adores the new song via Twitter. She posted, "Guys, on 6/22 @selenagomez is releasing my favorite thing she's ever done. Let's all get READY."
