HTC Desire 826 Price & Specs: HTC Launches 5.5-Inch Handset with Dual SIM Support

HTC has officially released the dual SIM variant of its Desire 826 handset.

This model is equipped with the same specifications as its single SIM counterpart.

The Taiwanese tech firm debuted the original Desire 826 handset in April of this year. Now, as a treat for users with two SIM cards, HTC has launched the second model of its handset.

The Desire 826 will first make its way to India this month for RS 26,990 or around $424. It is expected to be released in other countries within the next few months.

Like the single SIM version, the Desire 826 with dual SIM support features a 5.5-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. It is powered by the octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset and is equipped with the Adreno 405 graphics processing unit, Phone Arena reported.

The device has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be pushed up to 128GB through a microSD card. HTC's latest handset packs a 13-megapixel main camera with LED flash and BSI sensor and a 4-ultrapixel selfie snapper.

For its connectivity options, the Desire 826 is supported by 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, A-GPS and Micro-USB. The device runs on the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with HTC's own Sense UI.

The launch of the Desire 826 Dual SIM follows the release of another HTC handset, the One ME. Although it isn't a flagship model, the One ME trumps the company's current name-carrier smartphone or the One M9.

Unlike the latter, the One ME is equipped with a fingerprint scanner and packs a bigger display at 5.2 inches. It is also considered as the first smartphone that is powered by the 64-bit Helio X10 processor from MediaTek, according to NDTV.

Like the Desire 826, the One ME also runs on the Android 5.0 Lollipop but comes with HTC's latest Sense 7 UI.
