Following the efforts from "Star Wars: The Force Awakens' and their Force For Change charity work, the "Star Trek' franchise has also come up with its own philanthropic venture in relation to the upcoming "Star Trek Beyond.'

Aside from being able to help out several charitable organizations, people who support the "Star Trek' campaign could eventually land a walk-in role in "Star Trek Beyond.'

The cast and crew of the sci-fi film, directed by Justin Lin, have collaborated with Omaze for the "Star Trek: To Boldly Go' campaign whose goal is to raise funds that will support nine various causes and organizations chosen by the stars themselves.

For a donation worth $10, fans can be entered to win an impressive prize. The winner and his/her chosen guest will be flown to Vancouver, BC, where "Star Trek Beyond' is currently on location for filming. They will also be set up with a four-star hotel and, more interestingly, be given a guest role in one of the movie's scenes.

With the contest being announced this week, it will run up to Sept. 1 so fans are already urged to donate and have a chance of a lifetime to participate in their favorite sci-fi franchise.

To celebrate the To Boldly Go launch, cast members Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, and Karl Urban created a video in which they also tease several details about "Star Trek Beyond.' Clearly, the stars filmed the video on the set, which then offers viewers the first real look at the third "Star Trek' installment.

Pegg, who had worked on the script with Doug Jung, mentioned that the winner who gets the chance to take part in the film will encounter a number of new characters. This could indicate Idris Elba's villainous character or possibly Sofia Boutella's mystery role.

Quinto and Saldana previously posted pictures of themselves while on set as they are decked out in full costumes and dressed as their characters.

According to the original James T. Kirk, which is being portrayed by Pine in the sci-fi franchise reboot, the journey will shed light on the events within "strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before."

Quinto believes that the five-year mission will be incorporated in "Star Trek Beyond' and that there will be certain developments among the characters.

"We're coming up on the 50th anniversary of one of the most iconic sci-fi series in entertainment history so it's inherently an ongoing story," the 38-year-old actor said.

"Star Trek Beyond' will make its way to theaters on July 8, 2016, two months before the 50th Anniversary of the "Star Trek' franchise.
