‘Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection’ Will Feature New Modes for Better Game Play Experience

As part of Naughty Dog's promotion for the upcoming "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End," the studio is gearing up for the release of "Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection."

According to the studio, aside from containing the first three games of the "Uncharted" series, the upcoming collection will feature new game modes that can enhance the previous titles' game play experience.

As detailed by Gamerant, the new modes are Brutal, Speed Run, Explorer and Photo.

Brutal is a difficulty setting that goes beyond the series' Crushing mode. With this setting, gamers can expect to face harder challenges in the first to third "Uncharted" games. But, in order to unlock this mode, they will have to first finish a game from "Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection" in Crushing setting.

The Speed Run mode, on the other hand, will add a timer to the games. As the name suggests, this mode will require gamers to go through the various sections of the games within a certain time limit.

As for the Explorer mode, this setting will allow gamers to enjoy the environment of the game. Since this mode comes with reduced difficulty, gamers will be able to take their time going through the game.

Lastly, the Photo mode will let players take screenshots from the game which they can share with their friends online.

Aside from the new modes, "Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection" will also feature enhanced audio, graphics and lighting. It will also give players the chance to go through each "Uncharted" game as a different character.

In addition, the collection will also have 65 different character skins for the series' protagonist.

"Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection" is set to come out on October 9 exclusively for the PlayStation 4.

As for the main game, "Uncharted 4" was supposed to be released this year but in May, game director Neil Druckmann announced that its launch has been delayed, Polygon has learned. It does not have an exact release date yet but Naughty Dog is targeting to debut "Uncharted 4" sometime during the fourth quarter of next year.

According to the game director, the studio decided to delay "Uncharted 4" in order to provide the developers enough time to improve its quality.

"It's become clear to us that this game is much more ambitious than we originally envisioned," Druckmann wrote in the PlayStation Blog.

"So we've made the difficult choice of pushing the game's release date," he added. "Giving us a few extra months will make certain that 'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End' not only meet the team's high standards, but the high standards that gamers have come to expect from a Naughty Dog title."
