Only five months have passed since the official release of "Furious 7' but actress Michelle Rodriguez has been fired up in sharing new details about the next "Fast & Furious' movie.

The 37-year-old movie franchise star was present at the Harper's Bazaar Icon Part in New York City, and was open to sharing fresh information about the upcoming flick, including the date to begin filming.

"Next summer!" she said in an interview with E! News. "Yeah, we're trying to round up the troops."

Although the eighth installment of the popular franchise will be tinged with sadness with the absence of the late actor Paul Walker, Rodriguez shared that it will be the ideal means of coping with his loss.

"We need a good reason to move on after Paul," she stated. "And being that this is a global franchise now, it's not just the American baby, it's important that we consider moving on and take it seriously."

"But for us as a cast, I think we need a reason and it needs to have heart, so hopefully we'll find it, you know? And somebody who's passionate about directing it"”I think that's the most important thing is finding a good director," the actress further shared.

In terms of location, Rodriguez said that they are in hopes of filming in New York and are keeping their fingers crossed.

Co-star Vin Diesel previously drew attention to the title "Fast 8,' which he has referred to as "F8," or "fate."

"Paul used to say that 8 was guaranteed and, in some ways, when your brother guarantees something, you have to make sure it comes to pass," Diesel said backstage at the MTV Movie Awards. "So, if fate has it "” fate, F8 "” then you'll get it. 'Furious 7' was for Paul; '8' is from Paul."

Walker had already filmed several scenes for "Furious 7' when he met his demise in a car crash on Nov. 30, 2013 at the age of 40. His brothers, Cody and Caleb Walker, stepped in to complete his scenes and finish the movie on his behalf.

Aside from Rodriguez and Diesel, cast members confirmed to reprise their roles for sequel include Jordana Brewster, Ludacris, Kurt Russell, Tyrese Gibson, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Elsa Pataky and Lucas Black.

"Furious 8' remains in pre-production but is scheduled for an official premiere in April 2017.
