Co-founder of the Trinity Broadcasting Network, Jan Crouch, died at the age of 78 after a suffering a stroke last week in Florida.
Crouch founded the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) with her late husband Paul in 1973, which aired inspirational messages and testimonies. The channel featured messages from ministers such as Benny Hinn, Joel Osteen, and T.D. Jakes, which were broadcast over 78 satellites through 30 plus TBN networks.
"Those who battled for the Kingdom of God knew her as a fighter - someone who didn't give up, someone who fought relentlessly to get the Gospel around the world," her family wrote. "To thousands of orphans around the world, and those orphaned in spirit, she was Momma Jan, quick with a smile, a gift, and a word of encouragement."
"Jan Crouch loved many things, but most of all she loved Jesus, and now has seen Him face to face and has experienced His grace in fullness. She has taken a piece of our hearts with her, but it's so wonderful to know that Paul and Jan Crouch are together again, in the arms of Jesus," they added.
Crouch also directed a Bible theme park, called the Holy Land Experience, in Orlando in 2001.
The Holy Land covered Israel's history from the time of Moses in 1450 BC to destruction of temple in Jerusalem in 66 AD.
"Today Jan Crouch enters heaven as @hillsongchannel commences tomorrow. It's only possible because of her legacy," tweeted Hillsong senior pastor Brian Houston.
Her mother was a pastor at the Assemblies of God denomination, and her father was the founding president of Southeastern University in Florida. She met her husband Paul when she was attending Evangel College in Springfield, Missouri. They married in 1957, and have two sons.
Paul Crouch died at the age of 79 in November of 2013. He was treated for chronic heart problems for over a decade.
"She continues to place her trust in God, and draws strength from the promise of 2 Corinthians 1:3-4," her family wrote about her condition when she was at hospital in an update, quoting the verse, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."
