Evangelism Explosion International (www.evangelismexplosion.org) recently launched "What's My Story" (www.whatsmystory.org), an innovative new gospel tool that helps Christians easily create their testimonies and then share them with others as a way to introduce people to Jesus.

Every Christian has a testimony, which is not only important to that individual, but also important to God, the church and the world. "What's My Story" helps Christians put their testimonies into a powerful story format, making it easier and more effective to share with others.

"Most Christians don't give their testimonies on a regular basis and may even be afraid to give them, even though we're encouraged to do so by scripture," said Dr. John B. Sorensen, president of Evangelism Explosion International. "This new tool helps break down the fear barrier and provides a straightforward approach to putting together the most important story of your life."

"What's My Story" provides users with a step-by-step guide to crafting their testimonies or stories. The website includes a variety of sample testimonies organized by category. The format helps set aside the fear many Christians experience putting a testimony together. The site facilitates the sharing of these stories via email and social media, thus advancing the gospel and following the apostle Peter's admonition to "be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have."

Founded in 1962 by Dr. D. James Kennedy, Evangelism Explosion has trained millions of people in churches across America and throughout the world on how to share their faith. The ministry uses several different components, including prayer, practical training opportunities and the principle of spiritual multiplication. In 2013, nearly eight million people came to faith through Evangelical Explosion's efforts.

Sorensen recently wrote "Your Story Counts", which includes numerous testimonies from people about how God worked in their lives and brought them to the point where they know they have eternal life. The book urges Christians to take advantage of the powerful nature of their own personal stories in telling others about Jesus.

"Stories are such a compelling aspect of life," Sorensen said. "Hearing a good story can literally cause us to change our behavior or inform us of something we had previously never considered or even heard of before. When Christians fully realize how easy and powerful their own personal story can be, the gospel can travel to the ends of the earth."

Evangelism Explosion is a ministry that trains people how to share their faith in Christ and how to bring people from unbelief to belief. It utilizes a variety of components including prayer, actual on-the-job training where the experienced lead the inexperienced, and the principle of spiritual multiplication.
