Professional boxers Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. face each other in the boxing ring on Saturday, May 2, 2015. The match will be at Las Vegas, California inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Tickets are not yet available but fans are encouraged to check the MGM website and warned against purchasing fradulent tickets. Viewers can attend the event or stay home and watch it on pay-per-view.
Pacquiao is a 36-year-old Filippino boxer. He holds multiple titles for pro boxing such as Flyweight Champion, Welterweight Champion, and Super Featherweight Champion. 38-year-old Mayweather is an undefeated American pro boxer with ten world titles. He is called "Money" and "The Best Ever (TBE)" by fans and the media.
"No one can ever brainwash me to make me believe that Sugar Ray Robinson and Muhammad Ali was better than me. But one thing I will do: I'm going to take my hat off to those guys and respect those guys because those are the guys that paved the way for me," said a confident Mayweather in an interview with ESPN on Tuesday.
"If what we agreed upon is in the paperwork we receive, we will sign it and the tickets will be released," said Bob Arum in a recent interview with Yahoo! Sports.
According to Business Insider, the tickets will range from $1,500 to $7,500. Ticket sales for the match are predicted to be around $72 million. Home viewers can pay $89 to $99 for pay-per-view on HBO and Showtime. Official ticket sales have not yet begun. Fans are to check the MGM website to purchase tickets to the event.
