LG G Flex 2 Affordable Pricing Revealed in Amazon Preorder Page

The LG G Flex, predecessor of the G Flex 2

With LG making the official announcements for the G Flex 2 at CES, details for the phablet's pricing were expected to follow. Although the company is yet to reveal price details, the Amazon store in Germany has already put up the G Flex 2 with a 1080p flexible display for pre-order with a price tag of €599.

In 2013, Samsung easily made the headlines when it unveiled the first smartphone that features a flexible display- the Galaxy Grand measuring 5.7 inches. With the company restricting the shipping of the device worldwide, Samsung went on to give the Galaxy Grand a limited release in South Korea, specifically through SK Telecom.

Subsequently, LG also made the announcement that the company was to release the G Flex, its own curved display smartphone.

In contrast to Samsung's decision, LG released the G Flex with a 6-inch display all over the world through which phablet was released in the U.S. by means of major mobile carriers AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint.

The LG G Flex had been made available at $299 for a 2-year contract with AT&T and Sprint. T-Mobile made an offering that required users to pay up a monthly fee of $28 or a total price of $672 for those who do not prefer a contract.

On the other hand, the upcoming LG G Flex 2 will feature a smaller display of 5.5 inches, thereby stirring up rumors that it will come with a less expensive price. Based on Amazon's German store, the G Flex 2 has already been priced at €599  for those with no contract. Consequently, this may mean a $600 price tag for those in the U.S. Those with a 2-year contract may obtain the phablet for $199.

The new G Flex 2 will come with a P-OLED display with 1080p resolution and 403 ppi for pixel density. Powered by the 64-bit Octa-Core Snapdragon 810 processor from Qualcomm, the device will come with an internal storage ranging from 2GB to 3GB depending on the model. Two variants will be released based on storage capacity- the 16GB variant and the 32GB variant.

The G Flex 2 also comes with a microSD expansion slot that can support microSD cards of up to 128GB. With a non-removable 3000 mAh battery, the device will feature LG's traditional user interface and will run Android 5.0.1 Lollipop.

In terms of camera capabilities, the G Flex 2 will come with a rear-facing camera of 13 megapixels and a front-facing camera of 2.1 megapixels along with optical image stabilization, laser auto-focus and dual-LED flash. Interestingly, the phablet will be covered with a rear case that is resilient to minor scrapes and scratches.
