Chinese brand Xiaomi has once again rocked the entire Android world when it announced its latest flagship, the Mi Note Pro.
While the company still have its 'regular' flagship, the Mi4, selling well in its target markets, the start-up company decided to turn the heat one notch higher with its latest Android phablet.
According to the report by GSM Arena, the device will be available for pre-registration in China on January 20, while shipping begins a week later.
The Xiaomi Mi Note Pro is nothing short of a beast in terms of specs. The Android flagship packs a 5.7-inch JDI and Sharp-made touch screen display and packed with QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution. The phone's dual glass design is also top-notch and is reminiscent to the manufacturer's previous smartphone releases.
Specs-wise, the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro should be able to handle anything thrown at it, boasting an octa-core CPU with four Cortex-A57 cores running at 2.0GHz, and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5GHz. The device also packs a 4GB LPDDR4 RAM, which makes it among the first smartphones to get it, as well as 64GB built-in memory.
The camera department features a 13MP Sony-made shooter complete with a dual-tone flash and optical image stablization, and a 4MP front cam that has 1/3" sensor.
Completing the specs sheet is the Mi Note Pro's Hi-Fi stereo audio quality that provides support for several formats including APE, WAV, FLAC and DSD, a 3,000mAh battery, and Android 5.0 Lollipop skinned with Xiaomi's very own MIUI.
In the report, the new Android phablet only costs NY 3,300 or around $525, which is pretty cheap for a device of this caliber.
Aside from the Mi Note Pro, the Chinese manufacturer also announced a midrange version, the Mi Note, which packs slightly lower-end specs. In the report, the Android device features the same 5.7-inch display, but with just a Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution.
Other specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, 3GB of RAM and a quad-core CPU. There is also a Sony-made 13MP snapper at the back and a 4MP shooter which is similar to the HTC One M8's Ultra Pixel shooter.
